What happens if the world does not end like it’s supposed to? What if it keeps happening . . . over and over and over? Facing a bleak, unrelenting world, a small group of survivors take refuge in a hotel, eeking out an existence, struggling to survive. Afraid to go outside, the group of people erect cages on the roof of the hotel to stand watch, prepare, and be the eyes of the people inside. Supplies are limited. Morale is low. Hope is at a standstill. And the danger that lies just outside their walls may have found a way in.

This was a very good read - it held my interest from beginning to end. I engaged with the characters and was drawn into the story. One thing I loved about it was that rather than trying to sound spell Louisiana accents, Mr. Morrison simply wrote the dialogue and allowed the reader to do that in his or her own way. It was not about your stereotypical "fun-loving, rootin'-tootin', salt of the earth, sassy, wise, earthy Cajun/Creole folks." The characters felt like people you know or could know and were real - not caricatures. I highly recommend it.Product details

The Bird Cages A Novella edition by Michael Morrison Arthur Deatly Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
The other two reviews must be from personal friends of the authors. This short story is certainly not worth the price. There is no story to speak of - it just takes the easy way out with stupid zombies coming to get them in the end. DUMB DUMB DUMB I want my money back and would never have purchased it except for the 5 star reviews it was given and no mention of zombies in the description - I really feel I was taken -- please don't waste your money. It deserves 0 stars but they make you put at least one for the rating.
The Bird Cages was an awesome read. From beginning to end, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I felt like I was in the middle of the story, alongside the characters the whole time. Awesome!
I really enjoyed this story. The author did a great job with character building and the storyline. I remained intrigued through the entire read. Very refreshing and interesting!
