Imminence The Shape Shifter Series Book 1 eBook Jennifer Loiske Eveliina Tommola
This was the first shapeshifter book I have read and the author did a good job at making them seem a real part of the world. The love triangle and the growth of her children is an integral part of the story, keeping it interesting. The story moves along quite nicely and the second book in the series (Seduction) takes right up with the story. All in all both books are very good!

Imminence The Shape Shifter Series Book 1 eBook Jennifer Loiske Eveliina Tommola Reviews
Why, oh why could I not find books like this when I was younger and had so much much time to read. If I stumpled over this book in a book store, I would have felt like I struck gold!
The romance of werewolves and the now trendy shapshifters is new to my generation. We didn't have the richness of theses wonderful paranormal plots that abound the selections today. I'm so please I stumbled over this author who has done such a credible job of sucking me in within the first few pages. The author's thrilling way with her scenes makes my heart trip quickly as the sense of tension and suspence hooked me hard.
I love Sophia's unforgetable attraction to her past and how the author draws a contrast with her raw and passionate protectiveness to her David and her two beautiful young girels who have their own sense of mystery.
Perfectly edited, you can feel confident investing a few dollars in this riveting series. I'm on to the next one now!
**The author gifted me this book in exchange for an honest review**
The prologue instantly captivated me.
In the first few pages of the well written fictional book, the author hooks the reader by revealing that the main character is immortal and has betrayed her kind by secretly living like a human. In doing so, Sofia has put her mortal human husband and two daughters in danger. By the time this alpha female realizes that a hunt for her has begun, the reader is filled with questions which are eventually answered in the next chapters.
The author nicely brought each character to life. Wether human, shape shifter, or animal, she gave a very good picture of their personalities as well as their physical traits plus well portrayed their emotions.
I found that, although the fictional story focuses on inexistent creatures, it is still believable plus has good dialogues which makes it easy to get into and develop an attachment to the characters.
While I was reading, I almost felt like the author herself was a shape shifter and knew from experience was it was like to be one, more particularly a wolf, because of how well she described their life style etc. She obviously did her research, and took creative liberty as well.
The talented author managed to maintain the entertainment factor throughout the whole book; never a dull moment!
The suspense and intrigue from one page to the other as the characters were faced with many challenges, made it hard for me to put the book down. I kept wanting to find out more and discover what happens next. By the time I finished, I was instantly looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I am never disappointed when I read Jennifer Loiske's books because I find her stories original and unpredictable; this was no exception. Each short chapter provided new interesting details about the main character's past and present while remaining mysterious. It was also full of surprises.
I highly recommend this awesome book if you like paranormal stories involving mythical creatures and romance.
This book was an interesting read because it was a pretty good paranormal book, although slow at times it still kept you captivated with the plot.
This was a good read. I had a hard time with the multiple povs though. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Loiske really created an interesting world and concept of the "Pack," they could read each other's minds! Only, when they let each other are they able to do this, although the character Sofia(Leader of her 'pack') is able to 'break' into these barriers placed inside the mind to read into the mind, which resulted in a number of events to happen in the story, helping progress the story. Sofia is a strong female character, which I was happy to root for many of the times.
Marie(which is also my name, so weird!) is the daughter of Sofia just learning about her family lineage. She bonds well to the character "Tiam," and is also a very cute relationship, if I must add. This is the relationship of all relationships which made the book very interesting to read. I LOVED them. Just, so cute. (Take note that Sofia is the mother in the blurb, Marie is the daughter.)
Clarissa, Marie's sister, is an equally likable character who seems to be the character with the most problems(Finding someone comes to mind...) and the reader doesn't get to know AS MUCH about her, partly because of her role in the book as a sort of 'damsel in distress' type character. I do hope to get to know a bit more about her though in the next book!
The writing was straightforward, easy to follow, and simple, but not in the ordinary type of terms. She used 'larger vocabulary' when needed, but never to show off. Every single thing that Loiske placed into this book was of necessity. The only thing that I felt was confusing in the slightest bit was the change of "POV's" from Marie and Sofia, and not because I was like "Woah, who is speaking"(it's in 3rd person, limited POV) but mostly because I was debating who the main character actually was. But this might be because both characters were equally important in the book. Rest assured, I felt attached to both characters anyways, and might have added to how much I felt attached to this book as I read it.
The enemies were everywhere in this book, all the way from the more smaller antagonist, to the larger antagonist, Loiske kept the reader guessing at what problem might arise next, and from who!
With a new world to adventure in, lovable characters, romance, and a bit of mystery, Imminence has a something to please every. This book was a fantastic read that ended on a cliff-hanger, making me want to read the second book ASAP. Although this book is directed towards the YA bracket, I do believe that most people of older ages would enjoy this story also.
(This entire review reminds me one of a fan girl, kind of sporadic and gushy--- Not my intention, but it seems to be the best way to get my feelings out about this book. Take what you can from this review, then read this book!)
