Fascinating! Ms. Robards sets the mood within the first few sentences. She makes you feel the horror, lets you taste the fear that surrounds Lisa Collins, a journalist who comes to Rhodesia to do a human interest story. It gets no better for her when she is caught by a team of mercenary soldiers and has to assert herself against Sam Easterman, the epitome of an alpha male. The tension between those two literally vibrates off the pages. His deliberate brutality skitters across the nerve endings of your skin. His blatant sexuality robs you of breath. Karen Robards is another of my go-to authors for romantic suspense. This had it all. Sam was an alpha jerk and Lisa a spoiled brat, but their adventure had me sitting on the edge of my seat.
It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it held my attention and was easy reading.
Very strong male character, with lots of baggage. Sometimes very brutal - and mean. Spoiled, rich Lisa thrown into impossible circumstances. Lots of hot, hot jungle sex. Can the relationship last when the danger and jungle sex is over??
Love this author! This is an exciting story with a bit of intrigue. It keeps the pages turning as a wonderful love story unfolds. A great read!
I've read this story before, in the 80's, and it's still relevant today. Hot sexy alpha male, likable female character, lots of steam, great storyline, and leaving you wishing for more!
I was very disappointed to learn after I bought it, this is a 30 year old book! lists it from 2014 but the copyright page (which I only got to see after I bought the book) says 1985! I think the author and or should have made this little fact clear in the description.
